    Assessment Support

Eplus3D can support customers in coordinating third-party cybersecurity assessments or certification-related reviews.
  • 04

    Recognized in High-Standard Fields

Eplus3D technology has been reviewed and adopted in demanding industrial and international application contexts.

Our Commitment to Data Security

In modern industrial manufacturing, production equipment is increasingly connected with software, process data, customer networks, and remote service scenarios. Data security is therefore directly related to intellectual property protection, production continuity, and customer confidence.

Eplus3D treats data security and OT cybersecurity as important parts of industrial additive manufacturing deployment. We support customers in reviewing equipment security within real production environments and in building a more transparent understanding of machine-side cybersecurity.

Our Equipment Is Secure and Controllable

Eplus3D equipment can be reviewed within a defined network environment to confirm its current security status, communication behavior, and network integration. The goal is to help customers understand how machines are connected, what systems they communicate with, and how potential security risks can be managed.

A prior Siemens cybersecurity check overview showed that the tests carried out — including asset and vulnerability discovery, solution port scan, and vulnerability scan — found no significant security vulnerabilities within the reviewed scope. The review also indicated that the machines were connected only to intended systems and that no unwanted communication channels were identified within the assessment environment.

  • Support for machine security status review within a defined assessment scope.
  • Review of asset visibility, port status, vulnerability exposure, and network topology.
  • Clearer understanding of intended connectivity and machine-side communication behavior.

Third-Party Industrial Security Assessment

Siemens Industrial Security Assessment Experience

Eplus3D works with professional third-party cybersecurity assessment providers, including Siemens, to support industrial cybersecurity assessment activities for additive manufacturing systems. These assessments can be conducted with reference to IEC 62443-3-3 and may focus on machine-side cybersecurity, system architecture, network communication, and potential improvement areas within the defined scope.

For customers with higher security requirements, Eplus3D can support coordination with Siemens or other professional third-party cybersecurity assessment providers according to project needs. This enables customers to obtain a more transparent and structured understanding of equipment security in real production environments.

Security FAQ

Common questions about equipment connectivity, data control, remote access, and third-party security assessment.

  • Can customers conduct an independent cybersecurity assessment?

Yes. For customers with higher cybersecurity requirements, Eplus3D supports coordination with professional third-party cybersecurity assessment providers, including Siemens, according to project needs.

The assessment may be conducted with reference to recognized industrial cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC 62443 and may review system architecture, asset status, network communication, access control, remote access, logging and monitoring, backup and recovery, patch management, and operational security measures.

  • What is Eplus3D's role in a cybersecurity assessment?

Eplus3D supports customers in coordinating with professional third-party assessment providers (e.g., Siemens), preparing machine and network information, facilitating communication, and supporting follow-up improvement planning. The assessment itself is performed by the relevant professional assessment provider.

  • Is the equipment compliant with IEC 62443?

Eplus3D equipment cybersecurity assessments can be conducted with reference to the IEC 62443-3-3 framework. Eplus3D supports customers in reviewing equipment security based on this recognized industrial cybersecurity standard.

  • Does the equipment have backdoors or undisclosed remote access interfaces?

No. Eplus3D equipment has no backdoors or hidden remote access functions. Any remote access capability, if enabled, requires explicit customer authorization and can be controlled or disabled by the customer according to their security policy.

  • Can the equipment operate offline?

Eplus3D equipment can support offline or local-network-based operation depending on the project configuration and customer requirements. In such deployment scenarios, production data, process files, and machine operation can be managed within the customer's controlled environment.

For specific projects, Eplus3D can work with customers to review the required network configuration and define an appropriate deployment approach.

  • Is internet connection mandatory for Eplus3D equipment?

No. Eplus3D equipment does not have to be permanently connected to the internet for standard production operation. Depending on the customer's deployment requirements, the equipment can be integrated into a controlled local network or operated under restricted network conditions.

For customers with strict data security requirements, network connectivity, remote access, and external communication channels can be reviewed and configured according to the customer's IT/OT security policy.

Important Note

Cybersecurity assessments reflect the security status at the time of analysis and within the defined assessment scope. Changes in the IT landscape, system configuration, network architecture, or newly emerging threats may affect the security status after the assessment.

Third-party assessment or certification-related services are performed by the relevant professional assessment provider. Eplus3D can support customers in coordination, information preparation, machine-side communication, and follow-up improvement planning according to project requirements.
